Located in East Austin, Indio Arts is a small one man shop dedicated to the creation and design of functional art, custom wood work, and fine musical instruments.

Justin Telepak spent his formative years as an excavator, surveyor and camp manager of an archaeological field camp situated deep in the subtropical forests of Belize.  He studied the Maya culture both ancient and living, traveled extensively throughout Latin America, and made lasting connections with the people and places he encountered.

In 2000, Justin enrolled in the guitar building program at the Roberto-Venn School of Lutherie in Phoenix, Arizona.  He went on to hone his skills as a guitar repair person at busy shops in Tempe and Tucson and also as a woodworker in an exotic wood lumber mill.  These experiences led to a three and a half year apprenticeship with master luthier Mike Baranik.

Upon returning to Texas, Justin spent three years at Collings Guitars building finely crafted mandolins and guitars.  He expanded his scope into Austin's artist and tradesman culture and worked as a carpenter and cabinetmaker.

In November of 2007, Justin proudly took a stab at independence and opened the doors to his own workshop.
